In celebration of International Women’s Day, I’m reflecting on how the road to change can start within all of us.
A challenged mind is an alert mind.
If we all choose to stand up together against gender bias and inequalities, we will create a movement. To all women, let’s give ourselves permission to:
Show up authentically and not as the version of truth we think people want to see.
Chase after our dreams without worrying about who will criticize us.
Take a seat at the table and not relegate ourselves to the shadows.
Celebrate our wins and accept praise from others without confusing it as arrogance.
Take ourselves seriously as leaders and not allow ourselves to get stuck in the mind game of imposter syndrome.
Verbalize what we want without agonizing about how that level of clarity may intimidate others.
Know our value and not mistake other people’s words and actions as statements of our worth.
Lift up the women around us without worrying about there being enough space for all of us to succeed.
Speak our mind instead of silencing ourselves.
Let us all choose to create history and not be created by it.
